Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter from Canada. [2][3] The range of her earlier music has been called "lo fi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". She has also added elements of hip hop electronic, and rock. Her songs frequently touch on science fiction and feminist themes. Five albums have come out. Grimes was raised in Vancouver then moved to Montreal. She began her independent music career in late decade. In 2010, she dropped two albums on Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. The album was released in 2012 and Visions will be her third studio effort. She signed with 4AD. Visions features the singles "Genesis", and "Oblivion" which earned them an award called the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, was released in 2015. Several publications called it the top album. In 2020, she dropped Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes has also been an actor as well as a judge for Alter Ego's music contests, played a part as a vocalist for Cyberpunk 2077 which was released in the year 2020.
